Day 5:

I’ve officially made it to my fifth day of my diet and I am VERY happy with my results so far.  I’ve lost a total of 5 lbs which came off 1 lb per day.  It was perfectly destined that way so that I wouldn’t get discouraged about continuing.

Today may be a hard day because I don’t normally go a Friday night without at least 1 glass of wine.  So I’ll need all my strength this weekend not to pop any bottles.  Just going to preoccupy my time by cleaning and downloading some much needed music.

Day 3:

Just an update on my diet.  I’ve been doing this diet for 2 days now and I weighed myself this morning at 138.4 lbs… down from 141.2 lbs.

Normally this diet gets really hard because of the temptation to eat all your favourites.  I just keep telling myself “it’s only a week”.  So far no temptations but I smelled my mom toasting some nice Guyana bread on the stove today.  I love bread so this was very hard for me.  I sprayed my room with perfume and that seemed to get my mind off the smell LOL.

The first time I did the diet I was about 21.  I normally follow it for 7 days once a month until I just cannot bear it anymore or I have lost the weight I wanted.  Obviously the latter hasn’t been the rule.  The first week I lost 12 lbs within the seven days and put on 3 after I was off the diet.  The next month I lost 5 lbs and gained none.  However, the third month I lost only 3 lbs.  I found this very discouraging because it was a week of no roti for me.

from what I remember, I tried again the next year but had terrible results.  Probably because I was also consuming alcohol during the week.  (I like a little wine with my dinner meal).  I won’t be making that mistake this time around.

Cabbage Soup Diet

cabbage-soup01

Today is officially the first day of my diet/cleanse.  I’ve decided to do the cabbage soup diet.  It is more of a cleanse than anything else because you lose a lot of water weight while on it.

7 days.
Dedication and confidence.

This is the regiment I will be loosely following: The Cabbage Soup Diet by Catherine

I made the following changes to her guide:

  • I’m not eating veggies on the “veggie days” just eating the same amount of the soup as I would any other day + lots of fruits (mostly apples and orange).
  • Catherine lays out many substitutions and because I’m allergic to banana’s I will be substituting these with papaya instead.
  • On “meat days” I will have a salad served with steamed chicken breast and homemade salad dressing (little to no oil).
  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE spicy food and because it’s a natural way to get rid of toxins I have spiced up my soup with ground cayenne peppers.  (I’m also able to add more if I feel to, like at dinner time).
  • I work out at a gym but I will be cutting down my intensity and cardio time becuase of the lack of protein and carbs in my diet

Starting weight: 141.2 lbs
My goal: 7 lbs
(I am hoping for 10 lbs but 7 is my minimum.  You really never know with this diet because each time your body will have a different amount of crap to get rid of).

I’ve done this diet before and had great result sometimes, sometimes not as much as I’de like.
